Delete your MGRS Cardinal account

This page explains how to delete your MGRS Cardinal account and the data linked to it. MGRS Cardinal is developed by Vincent Cardinal, Alberta, Canada.

Option 1: delete it yourself in the app (immediate)

1. Open MGRS Cardinal (the Android app, or mgrscardinal.com) and sign in.
2. Tap the person icon at the top right.
3. Open the Personal information tab.
4. Tap Delete my account at the bottom, type DELETE and confirm.

Your account is deleted right away and you are signed out.

Option 2: ask us to delete it

If you can’t sign in, or prefer that we do it, email support@mgrscardinal.com with the subject “Delete my account”, from the email address of your account. You can also use the contact form and choose Privacy or data request. We delete the account within 30 days and confirm by email.

What is deleted

• Your sign-in (email, password or Google sign-in link) and your nickname.
• Your personal cloud map (pins, shapes, labels, symbols) and your account record.
• Your team chat messages, and the photos and files you sent.
• Your membership in a team. If you own a team, the team, its shared map and its chat are deleted for everyone.
• Your plan record. A website (Stripe) subscription is cancelled right away. An Android (Google Play) subscription stops renewing; you can also cancel it in Google Play under Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions.

What is kept, and for how long

• Billing records (amounts, dates, invoices) held by Stripe or Google Play, as tax law requires (up to 7 years).
• Safety reports and bans about the account, for up to 2 years, or longer if the law requires.
• A note of your account ID and the deletion date, so a delayed payment message can’t recreate your plan.
• Pins and shapes you added to someone else’s team map stay there for that team.
• Maps saved only on your own device stay on that device until you clear them.
