MGRS Cardinal is a map app built around precise grid coordinates. Mark your stands, blinds, trail cameras and your truck, share an exact position with your hunting partner, and walk back in the dark with a live bearing and distance.
Mark everything that matters Free
Drop pins on stands, blinds, trail cameras, water, crossings and your parking spot. Each pin shows an exact grid you can copy and send. With Pro, add your own notes to each pin.
Walk back in the dark Pro
Tap a pin and choose Go to: the app shows the bearing and distance and updates them as you walk. The big walking display shows a large arrow that turns with you, and red night mode protects your night vision before first light.
Know your light Premium
Light & moon shows sunrise, sunset, civil and nautical twilight, and the moon for any spot and date, to plan your mornings and evenings. Legal hunting hours are set by your province: always check the regulations.
Topo, outdoor and satellite maps Pro
Switch between topographic, outdoor (trails and backcountry detail), winter and satellite maps, with roads and names over the imagery.
Hunt with a partner Premium
A shared team map keeps everyone’s pins in sync, and you can choose to share your live position with your group, with call signs.
Questions
Is it free?
The live grid, grid lines, pins and the satellite map are free. Pro adds Go to, the compass, night mode and every map style. Premium adds team maps and light & moon data.
Does it work without cell signal?
Your GPS position and grid work without signal, but the background map needs a connection to load. Open your area before you leave. You can also load a PDF map of your area, which is saved on your phone.
Does it show hunting zones or property lines?
Not yet. Wildlife management units are on our roadmap. Always check your provincial regulations and land access rules.
Is it accurate enough?
Positions come from your phone’s GPS, usually within a few metres outdoors. Always carry a map, a compass and a way to call for help.
